Each cable, flexible has a minimum bending radius, below which the cable can be severely damaged and become unusable for operation. If no prevention is taken, overbending will usually happen. In subsea applications this is usually either at the platform or at the seabed.
Bend Restrictors are designed to prevent over-bending of flexible pipes cables at the interface with rigid structures. A bend restrictor assembly is a device which is mounted around the cable and attached to the structure so that bending of the cable will be prevented beyond the designed locking radius of the bend restrictor, thus preventing the cable from overbending.
Our Bend Restrictors are made of fully qualified and field proven rigid Polyurethane (PU) System, dedicated for extreme subsea loading applications. Composed of interlocking elements, each made of half shells bolted together with high-grade stainless-steel fasteners, our Bend Restrictor provides protection from over-bending when the Minimum Bending Radius is achieved.
